FAQ

  1. What are the background images of?
Those are two separate color images of the Andromeda Galaxy and Ring Nebula taken with the Clay Telescope at Harvard University!

  2. Why Captain Therbear?
Therbear is a loving name given to me by my cross country teammates at UC Santa Cruz. I let the word out that was what some people called me and it caught on with a few of my other good friends. I could tell you that the "Captain" part comes from me being team captain of the team for a year, but then I would be lying. That part is from an inside thing between my friend Nina and I about us being pirates or something...besides, who doesn't like pirates?

  3. Why Ye Olde Baked Goods?
    That's how pirates talk.

  4. Why Sol and Sirius?
Well, Sol is the name of our star that we see everyday from Earth. Sirius is the name of another star, but also the name my lab group had for an astrophysics course I took at UC Santa Cruz. This was among the top greatest classes I've ever taken because I got to work with some great classmates, on some amazing science, and with a teacher who goes by Professor X.
